Dartz (acceptmytruth) is from Kazuki Takahashi's Yuugiou.

Dartz is played by Amiasha.

Dartz is a sinister, manipulative being whose actions are all devoted towards his goal of summoning his god, Leviathan, who he believes will purify humanity. He is charming and likable, which is how he can persuade otherwise normal and reasonable people to believe what he tells them. That being said, he usually preys on people who are in a weakened state emotionally, especially children. He is quite capable of twisting or simply making up any story necessary to support his view, and even people who know to expect this can be convinced by him.

Aside from his general evil, Dartz has other negative traits that he attempts to hide behind his calm, charming facade. He is overconfident, though it could be argued that it is warranted by his age and experience. He is cold and unfeeling towards almost all people; the closest thing he really feels to true affection is liking one would have towards a loyal pet. He has, and is capable of loving, but after the death of his wife, the destruction of his country, and what he saw as a betrayal by his father Ironheart and daughter Chris, Dartz has never again felt love towards anyone or anything. He feels no remorse for any of his actions, as in his mind they are justified, and he also doesn't concern himself with the feelings of others except in what they might gain him.

Dartz can and will fight, but he prefers not to; usually, he sends his henchmen or other minions to do much of his dirty work. Unlike many evil masterminds, Dartz does not, by default, find his henchmen expendable, and will in fact attempt to protect them if necessary. However, if they turn against him for any reason, he instantly treats them as any other opposition and has no hesitation about stealing their souls to sacrifice to Leviathan.

Due to a side effect of the Orichalcos' magic, Dartz has one green eye and one gold eye. He is tall but not especially so, around six feet, and he has had long seafoam-green hair. He mostly wears white and varying shades of blue and green.

The Orichalcos Seal offers Dartz a variety of magic, and Dartz has a good amount of his own, too. The Orichalcos allows him to summon the Seal itself, summon the Orichalcos Soldiers, and take souls.

Dartz' own magic includes:

--Teleporting. He shows this in a late episode of the Doma arc, materializing out of nowhere from the flames of two torches.

--Telepathy. He speaks with one of his henchmen, Raphael, from a great distance away.

--Mirror Portal. He enchants a mirror to not only lead to a secret room, but to change his appearance as he passes through it.

--Ray. Dartz can shoot lightning from his index fingers, as well as call lightning strikes from the sky. The incantation appears to be simply 'Ray'.

--Sword Summoning. Dartz is capable of materializing a sword from thin air.

Official canon

The king of the doomed county Atlantis, Dartz is over 10,000 years old. Immortal, he hasn't aged past his mid-twenties, and may not be possible to be killed at all. After the destruction of his kingdom, Dartz began to collect souls in an attempt to raise the dark god, Leviathan. After his targets began to include people such as Pegasus, the main cast of Yuugiou became involved in attempting to stop him. With his 'Swordsmen': Raphael, Varon, and Amelda, and new recruit Mai, Dartz eventually managed to collect the souls of nearly the entire main group, including Jounouchi, Yuugi, and all four of his own Swordsmen.

Though nearly winning his duel against Atem, (if I remember right) the duel ended with no conclusion, instead becoming a battle to defeat the newly summoned Leviathan. With much efort, the god was defeated, and though Dartz claimed he had seen the light and changed, had he really?

Dartz has one daughter, Chris.

Head canon (stuff I made up)

Because Dartz' (and other Atlantians') immortality is, like almost all of everything in Yuugiou, POORLY DEFINED, I've decided on a few rules for it.

    --Dartz is immortal in terms of aging. He will not die a natural death by age, and in fact will never age any farther in appearance than he is.

    --Dartz CAN be injured or killed. However:

       --Injuries by normal means either do not affect him (for instance, he is not cut or bruised by something that would normally cause a human to do so) or he heals almost instantly.

       --Magic effects are normal, though they have to be powerful for him to care.

       --He can be killed only by some sort of powerful magic attack. The people of his country were killed when the Orichalcos (a magic-laden meteorite) smashed into the island, and poisoned them, if I remember right. However, bascially this means he's succeptable to spells, supernatural weapons, and other such.

Dartz' magic use on the island is not severely penalized, but he does wear out after prolongued usage. The lightning and teleportation are the most difficult for him to use on the island and take a lot more energy than the others.

Game canon (stuff that has happened in the game)

Dartz has set out on a search for new henchmen while at Moksa, and has a few prospects in mind. The first and foremost is Miranda Lotto, who he has some fondness for, and is quite intent on turning into his next in command in place of the recently defected Raphael. Mikuru is another candidate, and Dartz has also considered Tsuzuki, though he isn't certain he could put up with him long enough to actually train him to be useful. Dartz and Sebastian Michaelis teamed up soon after Sebastian's arrival, and they are currently busy being evil together.

Few people have seen through Dartz' guise and got an idea that he is not what he seems to be. Yozak is at the top of the list of those few who have, and the only one Dartz considers even possibly a threat to him. Linali is next, though he is more annoyed by the fact that she had the audacity to hit him. Dartz is too patient and experienced to base actions in revenge, but if it happens to coincide with his previous goals then he is happy enough to kill two birds with one stone.

Dartz, in the process of stalling Yozak from going after Sebastian during the New Years Eve party, had an impromtu hair cut curtosy of Yozak's new sword. His hair is now about shoulder-length.

For about a week in March '09, Dartz went on a spree of soul-stealing and general villainy. He eventually was defeated in a large battle, and returned the souls he'd taken. Calling a truce shortly after due to the high risk and little reward of continuing his efforts, Dartz agreed not to pursue any more souls... At least for the moment.
