 Events and Viruses

There are two major kinds of moderator-run activities in the game: events, and viruses. Events are, well, events. Some examples would be a dance, talent show, the plumbing breaking, or a sea monster showing up off shore. Viruses are "contagious" effects that usually apply to all characters, and are caused either by the campus or another character. For a more complete description, see the FAQ.

Both viruses and events last for a set date indicated on the monthly events calendar.

The campus storms occur every month for varying lengths of time. Each monthly Pop Quiz takes place sometime during this storm.

The events calendar is updated at the beginning of every month.

Event and virus suggestions and scheduling are ultimately handled by Yuuko-mun. If you have any ideas for viruses, you can comment on this Wiki entry with them. If your character is organizing an event IC, be sure to let her know, either via AIM or by leaving a comment on the event calendar post. Occasionally, proposed viruses will be voted on by the players to see which ideas are most popular.

Currently proposed ideas are:

Events

  • parties (themed, in the bars, the classrooms, the ballroom, etc.)
  • drinking games (lots of these)
  • class competitions
  • movie night on campus (all TVs will only play a certain type of movie)
  • earthquake
  • dorm rooms changing colour/style
  • sea monster
  • lantern festival
  • flood
  • tournaments
  • shows/concerts
  • Jumanji event
  • human chess tournament

Viruses

  • genderswap
  • musical virus (characters can only sing)
  • taste switch (food and drink tastes much different than it's supposed to)
  • code virus
  • bodyswap
  • senseless virus (characters lose one of their senses)
  • careful what you wish for (anything the characters say [alternatively: wish for] comes true)
  • truth virus (characters can only speak the truth)
  • memory swap
  • actual computer virus
  • human mood ring (characters change colours according to their mood)
    • alternately: only eyes change colour
  • hallucinations virus
  • physical age regression (mental age remains the same)
  • PokΓ©mon virus
  • Magical Girl virus

For a new virus, how about age regression/progression? Characters' bodies would turn younger or older, but minds would remain the same--even to the extreme of resembling Stewie Griffin.

Since I can't edit/delete my previous comment (oy), I noticed a regression virus was already done, but this version could still be fun.

I kept forgetting to mention that I wanted to suggest a variation on the mood ring idea; I think that sounds like great fun, though perhaps a less noticeable version (and a fun reference to horrible fanfic cliches) like only their irises changing color might be amusing~ So it'd essentially be the dreaded mood-ring eyes of Mary Sues the ficverse over.

...I have the weirdest ideas.

For a new virus, what about everyone turns into a Pokemon? Everyone will still be able to speak to each other, but they're able to use Pokemon moves. (ie Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, etc etc) >3

AND WHAT ABOUT A HINAMIZAWA SYNDROME VIRUS? It should only affect 5-10 people so that awesomeness occurs? I don't want to explain it now, totally lazy to do it. Just AIM me for information. I'm just tired at the moment.

Odd zap of inspiration: Magical Girl Syndrome! All characters would stay their true sex, but gain powers/costumes reminiscent of magical girl shows--the more flowery, the better. Maybe monsters could emerge from the forest, and the "magical girls" would need to fight them? Anything goes, except godmoding!

I second that virus! >3

Conan would be a *kind* of Tuxedo Kamen, orz

And the detective guys could shoot sparkly light beams from their Pointer Fingers of Doom! "Culprit--Confession--BLAST!"

...gdit, this idea just came to me.

WHAT ABOUT A JUMANJI EVENT? WE'D HAVE GROUPS OF FOUR. And everyone would be powerless (mortal) during this event. :3

How about like a human chess tournament? With teams, there would be the "chess pieces" and one would be the "game master" who would control the pieces on a special field where the game would take place. XD

I was thinking of some chapter of Tsubasa Chronicles. Sorry.

SO. What about a virus where characters swap wardrobes with each other for a week or so? They can't switch back either because the magic of the university prevents them from doing so XD If they tried, the wardrobe they were stuck with for a week would just reappear on their body/in their closet or something :3

A virus similar to the Geass would be interesting; every character develops a power that's specifically tailored to helping them obtain their deepest desires (or whichever desires the players choose XD), but it quickly becomes difficult for characters to control those powers?

I second that and the wardrobe swap, but wouldn't the latter just be an event, rather than a virus? XD

Instead of a ghost infestation this upcoming Halloween (thinking ahead, ftw? Er.), characters might be haunted by their past selves. Players could choose what point to draw the past self versions from; it could be pretty neat to write with the same character from a different point in time.

A memory exchange.... One memory from one person is seen my another (dream maybe?)... we could make it more interesting by having it be recurring until the two people meet/identify each other.

Noticing that there's already been a similar virus, I'd still like to suggest a love- (or emotion-) virus. Akako tries to make Kaito fall in love with her frequently in-canon, and a love potion in the cafeteria food would be right along that line. Her powers not working correctly here, the potion could do any number of things to whoever eats cafeteria food that day...

An Inuyasha event, where people are paired off in two's and one gets the 'sit collar' for a specific amount of time while the other can control it! It would be hilarious, right?

I second the Inuyasha thing completely, but instead of just saying 'sit' or 'osuwari', it should be the first word that comes out of the person. For example, if Aoko was paired up with Kaito and her first word was "Fish", then that word would replace "sit".

I TOTALLY SECOND THIS LIKE BURNING. It's quite funny, actually.
