-Appearance-

Yuugi is VERY SMALL. Officially, he's five feet tall, but if that's believed to be accurate, then every other character in the show must be a monster. (I'm not kidding.) HOWEVER, it should be noted that Moksa!Yuugi is now roughly two and a half centimeters taller than Atem. Yes. Taller.
He was brought to Moksa in his school uniform, minus the jacket. Neither does he have the Sennen Puzzle, as he is taken from after the series' end. He's most often seen wearing either his uniform shirt and pants, or his uniform pants and a white hoodie, which he found in his closet upon arrival. He no longer wears his collar thanks to Frau.
-Personality-
The first thing to be noted about Yuugi's personality is that he is very compassionate and self-sacrificing, even to a fault. He never puts his own well-being before that of others, no matter what the situation may be, to the frustration and bewilderment of some of the 'others'. The thing he holds most dear in life are the people he cares about, particularly 'the other him' or 'his other self' (Atem), his closest friends (Jounouchi, Anzu, and Honda), and his grandfather.
Where bravery is concerned, Yuugi would charge into a burning building without a second thought for the sake of his friends--or anyone, really--but freezes up at the thought of telling Anzu about his feelings for her. To his credit, he did manage to ask her out once, but only because he was setting her up on a date with Atem. (See above note about 'putting others' well-being before his own'.) He is generally gutsier depending on the severity of the situation/whether or not his friends - or family, or again, anyone, really - are in trouble or upset.
Yuugi has a wide range of emotions, and they often show plainly on his face. The only times he's very good at hiding his feelings are when he believes they'll be problematic or a cause for worry for someone else. He cries easily, and while he never seems to be embarrassed by that, he is frequently embarrassed by other things. Girls, when he is thinking--or forced to think--of them as girls, tend to make him blush, especially if they are touching him for any reason. He is not very smooth with the opposite sex. (Not that he's very smooth anyway~)
He's an optimist. Yes, the glass is half full. Actually, don't you think it looks a little closer to two-thirds full? He prefers trusting people to not trusting them, and even after someone has wronged/betrayed/insulted/injured/otherwise brought harm or discomfort to him, he'll give them the benefit of the doubt time and again. Mess with his friends, and it's a slightly different story. Forgiveness comes after the beatdown in that case, thankyouverymuch, though the actual 'beating down' is most often left to Atem.
Yuugi is a complete dork for games, and becomes close to gleeful at the chance to play one. He's pretty child-like in this aspect, though he can be very mature when the situation calls for it. (He can also be very immature when the situation calls for it, such as when he and Atem are goofing around with each other.) Though he used to be very lacking in any sort of self-assurance and was quick to give up, throughout the course of the series he becomes more confident and determined. Another change that can be seen in his character is shown through his interactions with others. He's very much a loner at first, semi-content to hang out by himself and play his games, though he wishes for friends more than anything else in the world. By the end of the series, he is surrounded by friends, some of them even being former enemies.
Official canon
[I bet you thought I'd never add this section, didn't you? Well, have about three thousand words of canon history. HAVE IT. If I'm feeling especially masochistic someday, I may even add pictures.]
Yuugi is a pretty ordinary kid until he manages to solve the 'unsolvable' Sennen Puzzle--an Egyptian artifact and gift from his grandfather, a former adventure-seeker/archaeologist-type who's traveled the world in search of dangerous and exciting games--at age fifteen, after eight years of trying to piece it together in hopes that it would grant his wish for friends on whom he could depend, and who would depend on him in return. He's small and weak, and frequently picked on by his classmates, so he's not very close to anyone aside from his childhood friend, Mazaki Anzu. When two of his tormenters--Jounouchi Katsuya and Honda Hiroto--are cornered by a far more dangerous bully--an upperclassman named Ushio,--Yuugi protects them, saying that he could never let his friends be hurt. His loyalty prompts Jounouchi--and later Honda--to reconsider their former opinions of him as a weak, useless little kid, and it's out of this reconsideration that the four of them (Anzu included) eventually become close friends. After the confrontation with Ushio, Yuugi solves the Puzzle and unknowingly frees 'the other Yuugi', a spirit who possesses Yuugi's body and uses his control of the ancient Dark Games to punish evildoers, the unjust, and... pretty much anyone who steps on Yuugi's toes or messes with his friends. Yuugi and the other Yuugi aren't aware of each other for quite some time, though they eventually begin to realize that they are separate people in the same body, and their friends begin to recognize this as well. It's during this time that they also meet 'the other Bakura' for the first time, a spirit possessing the body of Bakura Ryou, who also owns a Sennen Item. (The Sennen Ring.) The other Bakura is very much a RECURRING CHARACTER, one who ends up dying or being defeated a number of times but stubbornly comes back over and over again.
Aaand from here on out, there are a lot of card games. (This is about where the YGO: Duel Monsters anime picks up, though there are some differences in who knows who and what happened when due to the need to introduce the important characters who had already been introduced in the manga. From now on, the history from the anime and the manga will be sort of mushed together. >.>) After the other Yuugi defeats Kaiba Seto--the teenaged president of Kaiba Corp, a very lucrative gaming committee--in a game of Duel Monsters, Yuugi receives an invitation from Pegasus J. Crawford, the creater of Duel Monsters, to come take part in Pegasus's tournament. He's unable to refuse when Pegasus uses his own Sennen Item to steal Yuugi's grandfather's soul, forcing Yuugi to join the tournament and reach the finals so that he can duel Pegasus himself and rescue Mutou Sugoroku's soul. Yuugi doesn't actually do most of the dueling himself, but instead leaves it up to the other Yuugi, though he makes some appearances in the duel with Pegasus so that they can confuse Pegasus's 'Mind Scan', another ability of his Sennen Eye.
After Duelist Kingdom, there's a bit of filler in which the gang makes some new friends and play some card games. (Shocking!) It's around this time that Yuugi and the other Yuugi begin to grow especially close. After Yuugi nearly loses the Sennen Puzzle in a fire, the close call prompts Yuugi to ask his other self who he is and where he came from, and when the other Yuugi admits that he doesn't know, Yuugi tearfully promises that the other Yuugi can have all of his own memories, and that they can stay together forever. 'Forever' doesn't last very long, as a new villain--Malik Ishtar--shows up with his own Sennen Item--the Sennen Rod, which has the ability to control people's minds and actions--and some obvious knowledge about the other Yuugi's past. Ishizu Ishtar--Malik's sister, and commonly known as 'Isis' by the fandom--also shows up in Japan, prompts Kaiba to hold another tournament, and gives him a card called 'Obelisk'. Obelisk is one of the three God Cards, which are the most powerful cards in Duel Monsters and also happen to hold the key to the other Yuugi's memories. The other Yuugi joins in the tournament with the intention of finding out more about his past, but doesn't tell Yuugi about this reason until later because he doesn't want Yuugi to know that he's unsatisfied with not knowing who he is. Even when he learns the truth, Yuugi is still determined to help his other self in any way, and does a good job of backing him up throughout the tournament. He even takes part in a duel of his own, when Malik uses the Sennen Rod to take control of Jounouchi and forces him and Yuugi into a life-or-death duel that could have ended horribly if not for the power of FRIENDSHIP.
Both Yuugi/the other Yuugi and Jounouchi reach the semi-finals of the Battle City tournament more determined than ever to win (with the Yuugis having managed to collect Osiris, another of the God Cards, by this point), and they learn that the semi-finals are to take place on a giant blimp. Since it's lame to do things like let your parents know that you're going to be on a giant blimp flying who-knows-where for the next couple of days, Yuugi and company hop aboard without a second thought and promptly prepare for some more card games. As it turns out, Malik's a pretty nasty guy but not nearly as nasty as he could have been this whole time. During one of the duels, his other personality comes out--note: not another person, like the other Yuugi and the other Bakura are separate people from Yuugi and Bakura; the other Malik is just a separate part of Malik's personality--and starts wreaking havoc. By the end of the semi-finals (and the second season of the anime), the other Malik has dueled two people, Kujaku Mai--a card game-playing femme fatale--and the other Bakura (didn't I tell you he'd be back?) with Mai ending up in a coma while the other Bakura's punishment for losing the duel involves... disappearing into thin air. (No worries; he'll be back again!)
The airship takes an unexpected detour into an underwater fortress. The gang's been kidnapped by Kaiba Noa, the biological son of Kaiba's adopted father. There's some virtual reality that no one realizes is virtual reality, talk of body-snatching, a good deal of fighting between Kaiba and Noa over which one Daddy loves best, and shockingly, a large number of card games before the group defeats the baddies, learns that Noa's actually a decent person with a really tragic past, and makes it back to the airship and back on course for the Battle City finals. During which, the other Malik continues his reign of terror by dueling another opponent--this time it's Yuugi's best friend, Jounouchi--into a coma, while the other Yuugi and Kaiba have a rematch that ends in Kaiba losing, as usual, and Kaiba turning over his God Card as a result. The other Yuugi faces off against the other Malik in a Dark Game that brings out the original Yuugi and the original Malik as sacrifices. Each time the other Malik or the other Yuugi loses life points, their respective sacrifice's body slowly vanishes away into the darkness. Despite the odds stacked against them, Yuugi and the other Yuugi manage to win the duel and rescue the original Malik--and all the other victims--from his more evil other self, ending the tournament with all three God Cards (Osiris, Obelisk, and Ra) and the knowledge that they must present said cards to a certain ancient Egyptian slate in order for the other Yuugi to remember his past.
Season four, start! The other Yuugi decides to go to the museum at which the Egyptian slate is located and present the cards so that he can recover his memory, but since this series needed some more good, anime-only filler, it doesn't work. Instead, a bunch of duel monsters are set loose on the city and start attacking people, and shortly afterwards, three motorcycle-riding baddies show up and steal the hard-won God Cards, calling themselves Doma's swordsmen before they ride off again. Yuugi and company travel to America to retrieve the stolen cards, and over the course of a handful of card games learn that Doma's swordsmen are working for a man called Dartz, a ten thousand-year-old Atlantean prince who's been stealing people's souls in order to revive his ancient god, the Great Leviathan, for the purpose of destroying all traces of the human race and 'resetting' human history back to year zero. The other Yuugi suffers a great blow rather early on when he gets cocky and loses a duel to Raphael, one of the three swordsmen. Rather than let his other self's soul be taken as punishment for losing the duel, Yuugi forfeits his own soul instead. He makes an appearance in a place called the Valley of Souls and duels the other Yuugi, but vanishes shortly afterward, not reappearing again until the other Yuugi and company have dueled their way through all the henchmen and to Dartz himself. Dartz godmods the heck out of the game, just about EVERYONE loses their souls, and the Great Leviathan is summoned, though the other Yuugi manages to 'defeat' it by demanding that it attack him; he will shoulder all the anger and hatred of the world. This actually works (despite the distinct lack of card games involved), the souls are all returned, the God Cards are retrieved, the real world as well as the world of duel monsters have been saved, and everyone leaves, tired but with the sweet sweat of victory on their brows, or... something.
They're still stuck in America, however, with no way of getting home unless the very rich Kaiba decides to help them out. He instead uses the opportunity to force them to join his new tournament, Grand Prix. Grand Prix is ninety-five percent dueling silliness, mostly designed for the purposes of lightening things up for everyone (and by 'everyone', I mean us, the fans) after the highly depressing Doma arc. Since it's so fluffy, there's not much to say about it except that there's a lot of... silliness and card games. The 'villain' of the arc is a guy named Seigfried von Schroeder, who's entered the tournament to get revenge on Kaiba for supposedly stealing Seigfried's plans for a holographic imaging system. Needless to say, the threat is eliminated after a series of not-so-high-tension card games, after which Yuugi and company are finally able to return home to Japan.
Not for long, however. Yuugi and the other Yuugi both know that their time together is quickly drawing short, as the other Yuugi still intends to present the God Cards to the Egyptian slate and recover the memories of his past. Yuugi tells the other Yuugi to go for it, and to not worry about Yuugi himself. The other Bakura makes a reappearance (whaddya know?) just long enough to tell the other Yuugi that when he goes to retrieve his memories, he'll be forced to play 'the Ultimate Dark Game' and that he'd better be ready for it. The other Yuugi sees no reason to mention this to his friends, who travel to Egypt with him so that he can try this God Card thing again. This time it actually works, and the other Yuugi is promptly vortexed into his world of memory, leaving Yuugi to give the Sennen Puzzle a lonely and distressed stare. In the name of friendship, Yuugi, Jounouchi, Honda, and Anzu all decide that they can't leave the other Yuugi to learn about his past all alone--especially once they learn that their friend has just been sent into 'the Ultimate Dark Game'--so they decide to travel to the other Yuugi's world of memory as well. In the memory world, the origins of Duel Monsters and the Sennen Items are revealed, and the other Yuugi gradually begins to recall things from his past as the Pharaoh of Egypt. In ancient Egypt, the other Bakura is a tomb robber with his heart set on revenge, after his entire village was rounded up and sacrificed so that the Sennen Items could be created for the Pharaoh and his priests to wield so that they could flush out and eliminate evildoers/the unjust/anyone who steps on their toes, and keep the kingdom running smoothly. While the other Yuugi is dealing with thief Bakura, internal problems with some of his priests, and eventually the evil dark god Zork, original Yuugi and company are running around trying to learn the other Yuugi's true name, which has the power to seal away the dark god and save the world. Yuugi ends up dueling the OTHER other Bakura--the other Bakura from the present who decided to tag along and visit the other Yuugi's memory world--and defeats him with a deck of Duel Monsters cards created from the images in Yuugi's heart. As if things weren't already confusing enough, while all this is going on, there's ANOTHER other Bakura and another other Yuugi watching the whole thing play out on a giant RPG board, with RPG!playing Bakura occasionally lending a hand to thief!Bakura in the form of randomly rewinding time and erasing thief!Bakura's mistakes, and leaving Pharaoh!other-Yuugi wondering what the heck just happened. In the end, Yuugi and company are able to locate the other Yuugi's name on the wall of his future tomb, return to the Pharaoh, and will the name to appear on the other Yuugi's cartouche necklace. Now that he knows his true name, he declares himself King Atem, and uses the power of his name to fuse the three God Cards together and summon Horakhty, the Creator of Light, who promptly kicks the stuffing out of Zork. Shortly afterward, Atem reaches the end of his memories, strongly implying--obviously--that this was the point at which he died in his first life, and everyone returns to the present day real world.
Now that Atem knows who he is and where he came from, it's time for him to move on to the afterlife where he belongs. Ishizu tells everyone that his only remaining task is to 'lay down his sword'; that is, to lose to someone better than him. Yuugi volunteers, thinking that there is something he has to tell his other self, and that Atem won't know until he shows him. He also thinks that defeating Atem is his last mission, as the person who solved the Sennen Puzzle. Both Atem and Yuugi prepare their decks for the duel, with Yuugi thinking that his other self is about to leave, and he'd rather spend this time talking to him, but he's a duelist. He knows what he has to do, so he'll remain silent. (All these details are very important in showing how Yuugi has grown, since most of his character growth takes place sort of off-screen while Atem has the spotlight.) They all travel to the location where the ceremonial duel is to take place, place the seven Sennen Items they've collected into an ancient Egyptian tablet, and Atem and Yuugi are split into two separate bodies so that they can face off against each other. What follows is easily one of the most intense and well-thought duels (particularly the manga version, which is what I'll be using as reference) of the entire series. Atem and Yuugi are constantly predicting each other moves, so that the advantage switches from one to the other constantly, sometimes multiple times per turn. They are so in tune with the duel that they both recognize when they've reached the final turn even before the turn has officially started. Yuugi wins the game by sealing away Atem's ability to summon Osiris from the graveyard, and then attacks him directly with the Silent Magician, one of the cards created from the images in his heart. After striking the final blow, Yuugi falls to his knees in tears, telling Atem that Atem was his role model, and that he always wanted to be strong like him. Atem replies that Yuugi isn't weak, and that he's always had a power that no one can beat: the power of kindness.Yuugi calls him 'the other me', and Atem says that no, Yuugi is the only Yuugi in the world. Atem then stands in front of a large stone tablet and says his name, and the tablet opens up to reveal the door to the afterlife. With many, many tears from Yuugi and his friends, they bid him farewell and he steps through, his clothing changing from that of Yuugi's school uniform to his Pharaoh garb just before he vanishes. The tablet with the Sennen Items collapses into the ground, taking the items with it, and Yuugi and company must rush to escape before the room caves in on them. Once they're safely outside, everyone stares nostalgically at the sun, and Yuugi thinks to himself that "This isn't the story of a great Pharaoh. Everyone has a story of their own, and that story ends in light. As for me... My story has just begun!" In the anime, this series of lines occurs as a voice-over for the very short epilogue to the series, in which Yuugi is seen rushing from the Game Shop, sans Puzzle, to meet his friends so that they can walk to school together. He greets them cheerfully, but his expression grows sad as he thinks of Atem, before returning to a soft smile as he once again lifts his gaze to the sun.
Head canon (stuff I made up)
After defeating Atem, Yuugi stopped dueling for a short time because it was hard for him to deal with the feelings and memories that he now associates with the game. Eventually, he pushed past this and started playing again, despite being somewhat overwhelmed with emotion at times.
When Yuugi was much younger, he had recurring dreams about being a skyscraper. He thinks back on these dreams fondly. (This is of about 0.000000003% importance, AKA, not important at all; it's just kinda funny. XD)
Yuugi fails at Sex-Ed. This might as well be official canon, srsly.
He had some bad experiences with haircuts in the past. (It just seems likely, doesn't it?)
Academically, Yuugi has never done very well in school except for his first few years of elementary school, when he seemed to be a bright and promising student. Over time, however, his grades grew worse and worse until he ended up ranking 372nd place in aptitude tests. This isn't because he's stupid, but more the result of a combination of lack of attentiveness to his schoolwork--games are MUCH more important, after all--and a certain feeling of pressure when it comes to academics. Midway through elementary school, his inability to connect well with his peers caused him to begin feeling less confident and comfortable at school, and his grades began to suffer as a result, causing his slightly overbearing mother to panic and start stressing over his scores. And a stressed and unhappy Yuugi-Mama makes for a stressed and unhappy Yuugi, which makes for poor academic performance. This is the best explanation I can come up with, since he really is quite bright and I don't think he'd purposefully slack off and let himself do badly in school when his academic success is clearly important to his mother. (He'd worry about upsetting/disappointing her.) Additionally, he might have some kind of slight learning disorder that I'm not confident enough to try to explain. Erm. Yeah.
Yuugi's kaa (the part of his soul that manifests as a creature and is summonable as such) is never revealed in the series, so I picked out the monster that I thought suited him best and seemed a good match. The Silent Magician is canonically female--and all the anime-only people say, "Huhwha?"--but Yuugi's kaa is a part of his soul, and therefore shares his gender. It's not much of a stretch to imagine this; the Silent Magician is quite androgynous in the anime, particularly when it's on the lower levels. [Image from Naraku] Speaking of levels, Yuugi will probably require some special kaa training before he is able to consistently raise his kaa's level. He's able to summon it on a level higher than zero if the situation is very difficult for him, and it can also evolve after he's summoned it, when an enemy 'takes action' on them somehow. So far, he's been unable to summon his kaa on a level higher than level three, nor has he been able to raise it to a higher level than that after summoning it.
Game canon (stuff that has happened in the game)
-Relationships-
[All notations of 'positive', 'neutral', 'negative', etc. are based on Yuugi's feelings towards the other person, not necessarily their feelings towards him.]
Atem~ Yuugi's 'other self', AKA 'best friend/near-twin'. They're incredibly close; considering how easy it is for them to understand each other, they might as well be able to read the each other's minds. They're very adorable and lame together most of the time, but are also more than capable of pulling off srz bsnz mode when they really need to. Both members of the ridonkulous duelisticus (a species commonly noted for their crazy hair, stubbornness, inability to calmly deal with simple problems, and near-unhealthy passion for games of any kind), one is rarely seen outside their natural habitat--or inside their natural habitat, for that matter--without the other. Very much a positive relationship.
Linali~ Yuugi absolutely adores her and considers her a close and irreplaceable friend. Though he rarely passes up the chance to tease Atem about his girlfriend~, he couldn't be happier for the both of them, and is convinced that there is some way for the two of them to remain together. (Just don't ask him for details on what that way is, exactly.) If he thinks of Atem as his brother--and he does--then Linali is, in his mind, definitely his sister. Very much a positive relationship.
Yun-qi~ Linali's kitten. Yuugi loves to spoil him and thinks he's wonderful. "A very smart cat with an adorably unflattering jealous streak." If he belonged to anyone but Linali, Yuugi might be tempted to kidnap him. Also a positive relationship.
Jounouchi~ He and Yuugi are BEST BUDDIES FOREVERRRRR. Jounouchi is also a member of the ridonkulous duelisticus, and he's become Yuugi's and Atem's unofficial roommate for the duration of... forever, which makes Yuugi incredibly happy. Things were a little bit strange between them when they were last together in their world, since Atem had left, but Yuugi considers that to be water far under the bridge. Very much a positive relationship.
Anzu~ Yuugi's first friend, and also the girl he happens to have a massive crush on. He's unlikely to admit that second part--despite having decided, after observing Atem and Linali together, that he needs to get his act together and confess already--because Anzu is from a different time than he is, and he's wary of trying to start a relationship that he knows for a fact she won't remember. He's also very wary of doing anything that might hurt her and that includes prematurely telling her anything about what happens in her future (some of which is, by now, his past), so while they're still good friends, they're also kind of walking on eggshells right now. A positive, but also confusing, relationship.
Frau~ Yuugi is, for the most part, BAFFLED by this guy. Frau's near-constant baiting of people causes him to make the :| face quite often, but he knows that deep down, Frau isn't a bad guy. Yuugi also believes that he has managed to very sneakily (not really) uncover Frau's greatest weakness: cute animals. Frau and Yuugi are surprisingly close. Yuugi knows quite a bit about Frau's existence and about his world, the rules of which Yuugi does not care for a bit. The most confusing relationship of them all. Swings wildly from positive to negative and then back again.
Teito~ This poor boy practically got tackled by Yuugi upon his arrival. Yuugi's heard a lot about Teito from Frau and is EXTREMELY glad that Teito and Frau have now been reunited. For this reason, he treats Teito a bit oddly, hoping to keep the other boy distanced from any problems in the island because he doesn't want Teito to have to deal with them. This will likely not last, now that Teito has (kind of) taken up the role of Yuugi's personal trainer. They've started with running, which they now do every morning. Positive relationship.
Labrador~ From one gentle soul to another, Yuugi really, really wishes that Labrador didn't have Dartz as a roommate. It makes him worry, a lot. Yuugi also tried to give Labrador some relationship advice about Castor, and it mostly just hoping that he didn't say something he shouldn't have said. Positive relationship.
Yami no Malik~ There's really not much to say except that Yuugi is utterly horrified by the arrival of this person. Yami no Malik is rather like something from a horror film, and his presence at Moksa makes Yuugi very, very anxious. Very negative relationship.
Dartz~ Tied with Yami no Malik for Yuugi's least favorite person on the island. Due to previous events in their own world, Yuugi didn't care for Dartz from the very beginning, but particularly after the soul-stealing event on campus, he is probably as close to hating him as Yuugi could be to hating anyone ever. Be on the lookout for shin-kicking. It may happen someday. Very negative relationship.
Tsukuyomi~ Supposedly Yuugi's 'sempai' in the ways of sword-fighting, Tsukuyomi is a bit frightening to him--and, being an incredibly clingy girl, often a source of great embarrassment to him--but he's far too nice to say that directly. It was thanks to her that he experienced an attack to his kaa for the first time, but he still doesn't think of her as a bad person and has no idea that she's teamed up with Dartz. I think this would be called a chaotic neutral relationship.
Mai~ Another person from his own world, Yuugi is glad to know Mai is on the island. It's likely that Atem and Yuugi will need her help with any situation that involves girls and embarrassment. >D (Like returning undergarments to their proper owners~) Positive relationship.
Rebecca~ He feels like it's his job to look out for her, but she does her best to make it difficult for him by constantly picking fights with Atem (and just about everyone else on the island), loudly declaring Yuugi to be her 'darling', and spilling secrets that she really, really shouldn't. Positive yet confusing relationship.
Hakkai~ Yuugi officially met Hakkai when helping Frau return Hakkai's dragon - Hakuryuu - to him during the object disappearance virus. He was very glad to be able to help reunite the two, especially after seeing how emotional Hakkai was about it. They mostly get along... except when Hakkai starts insinuating that Yuugi and Atem are romantically involved. Then Yuugi feels extreeemely uncomfortable around him. Neutral to positive relationship.
Hakuryuu~ After all the misadventures the poor dragon had during the object disappearance virus, Yuugi has grown somewhat attached to him and frequently asks Hakkai how he's doing. Positive relationship.
Tsuzuki~ Yuugi thought of him as being kind of spazzy initially, but then Tsuzuki rescued Atem during the battle with Dartz and now Yuugi not only feels warmly towards Tsuzuki, but also respects him and feels that he owes him for helping Atem. Positive relationship.
Gray~ Yuugi doesn't know much about Gray, but he does know that due to a highly unfortunate virus, Gray's underwear disappeared right off of his body while he was A) wearing nothing else to begin with, and B) standing in front of a girl. For the most part, when Yuugi thinks of Gray, he's just embarrassed for him. Additionally, though he thinks of Gray as being a good person, he finds him a bit difficult to deal with when it comes to training/sparring, because Gray doesn't exactly hold back all the time. Neutral to positive relationship.
Mikuru~ Yuugi's first impression of Mikuru was that she seemed sweet and a liiittle spazzy. If she weren't so afraid of Atem, she and Yuugi would have a chance to be good friends... Neutral to positive relationship.
The Undertaker~ Despite the Undertaker's rather creepy appearance, mannerisms, and hobbies, Yuugi usually has warm feelings towards him--until the Undertaker starts encouraging Atem to kill people. Yuugi is also very grateful for the Undertaker's willingness to give him remedial Anatomy lessons, though he does kind of wish that the Undertaker would stop offering to build him a coffin. He'd also like to think that the Undertaker has moved on from thinking of Yuugi as a demon. Neutral to confusing relationship.
Rolo~ They've bonded a good bit over talk of not-brothers, games, and robots. Well on the way to positive relationship. They should spend more time together.
C.C.~ Yuugi feels just a little uncomfortable talking to her, since the topic of conversation always seems to come back to the Japan of her world. Yuugi doesn't feel any ill-will towards her, of course; he just has trouble talking to her. Neutral relationship.
Riku~ Yuugi thinks of Riku as being his buddy. They don't hang out as often as he'd like, and he worries about her since Daisuke left. Positive relationship.
Kazuki~ Yuugi's only spoken with him briefly, but is very impressed with the person who claims to have the 'specialty' of playing hide-and-seek. He also admitted during the truth virus that he initially wasn't sure if Kazuki was a man or a woman. Neutral relationship.
Flora~ Yuugi finds her to be sweet and helpful, though he doesn't want to trouble her too much. Neutral to positive relationship.
Orlando~ When Yuugi and Orlando first met, both were unwilling to give complete details about their lives before arriving on the island for fear that the other would think they were crazy. They're gradually beginning to open up to each other now, but Yuugi senses that Orlando is closed off about a number of things, and tries his best to be sensitive to that. He has no idea that Orlando died before being brought to Moksa. Positive relationship.
Eisuke~ Yuugi admires Eisuke's patience--meaning, the fact that he didn't go crazy while being handcuffed to Atem for a week--and feels somewhat indebted to him for, more-or-less, keeping Atem from going crazy during the handcuff event as well. Positive relationship.
Kaito~ It's not that Yuugi and Kaito fail to get along as much as they just fail to understand each other. Kaito thinks Yuugi takes everything too seriously, while Yuugi doesn't think Kaito considers certain things to be serious enough. They DO have a few commonalities, though, namely that both of them have crushes on their close friends and are nowhere near admitting it. (Yuugi supports Kaito's feelings for Aoko very much, and hopes things work out between them.) Neutral to positive relationship.
Kaitou Kid~ Yuugi would greatly appreciate it if this guy did not go around stealing stuff on campus. Kaitou Kid's introduction has made him a bit nervous, though he doesn't want to judge the 'new arrival' to the island too quickly. Negative to neutral relationship, more the latter.
Heiji~ Heiji helped Yuugi and Jounouchi out when Atem and Linali went missing. Yuugi really appreciates the assistance he offered. Neutral to positive relationship.
Nanami~ They haven't spoken much, but Yuugi's hoping that she'll have some amazing advice for him regarding what to do about Anzu. Neutral relationship.
Hamel~ Yuugi wants to help with Hamel's orchestra, but does NOT understand why the other wants to make him dance. Neutral to confusing relationship.
-Events-
Truth or Dare Party~ Yuugi attended the party not too long after he arrived, and while he saw quite a few people, he didn't really introduce himself to anyone. He stood on his head for three minutes, though, and it was very impressive. XD He also: dared Linali to hold hands with Atem for the rest of the game; admitted to having weird dreams about being really tall; and dared Atem to rub noses with everyone else in the room, which he only got away with because he's Yuugi. (Well, Atem let him get away with it because he's Yuugi; other characters might not prove to be so forgiving~)
Tumbling Lesson~ Yuugi kinda fails at tumbling, but he did his best, and so considers it a success. Even if it was embarrassing to mess up in front of so many people.
Soul-Stealing Event~ Yuugi's first real wake-up call that not all is fun and games on this island. He was unable to participate in the final battle with Dartz (having been more likely to get himself smushed than be of help, had he actually tried), which bothers him a LOT. He hates that he couldn't be by Atem's side, helping everyone where he belonged, and he has decided to ask his other self to help him learn to summon his kaa, so that he can be less useless if something like this were to happen again.
Never Have I Ever Party~ It's a game! A nice chance to cheer up after the events with Dartz, right? Yuugi accidentally and unknowingly ended up with some of Mai's alcoholic drink instead of punch, so he was very cheerful. And also annoying.
Random Object Disappearance Virus~ A very frustrating week. Yuugi not only lost his Duel Monsters deck and his key card, but also ended up having to do some hasty intervention to keep Frau from getting himself mind crushed as the result of an inappropriate prank on the bishop's part. (It's debatable how much of an effect Yuugi's attempt at peace-making actually had.) The next day, he and Frau ended up on a search for Hakkai's missing dragon, Hakuryuu, which tested the patience of all parties involved but did turn out well in the end. Afterward, Linali got sick and Yuugi and Atem decided to bring her to their room so that they could better look after her, only to be haunted by girls' underwear in the process. (Yuugi is starting to believe that each time he sees a bra, it takes at least sixth months off of his life. He's not likely to say this out loud.) When the virus ended, he was, needless to say, very relieved.
Sword-fighting lessons~ Yuugi considers his first lesson in sword-fighting to be a success; he and Atem practiced against each other and both had a highly enjoyable time with it. The most uncomfortable part of the lesson was meeting the Undertaker in person, who offered to make Yuugi an urn ~of his very own~. Yuugi is likely to keep practicing sword-fighting by himself, and maintains that he doesn't need the urn. Or a coffin. Really.
Joint Birthday Party (Conan, Riku, Risa)~ Yuugi and Atem attended the party together, where they had a conversation with Riku about hanging out together more often. To Atem's glee, they settled on having a bonfire at the beach. Yuugi and Atem gave Riku and Risa each a digital pet, and Conan an RPG of their own interesting creation.
Taste Change Virus~ Despite nearly starving like everyone else and being hopped up on bubblegum-flavored coffee for most of the week, - which made him even more easily flustered than usual, - Yuugi did manage to assist Atem in building a flamethrower during this virus. Which isn't the easiest (or smartest) thing to do on an empty stomach.
Destroyed Dorms: Take One (Atem vs. Frau)~ Atem and Frau are always fighting, but it's not often that they cause such mass destruction. Yuugi tried to break up this particular argument but ended up drugged and unconscious. Atem and Frau proceeded to go all out and turn the boys' dorm into their own personal arena, which resulted in Osiris taking out a good chunk of the building and leaving six people temorarily homeless. There were some high dramaz afterward, with Yuugi doing a good bit of flailing around as he tried to apologize to everyone involved. Atem got lectured.
Joint Birthday Party: Take Two (Atem and Yuugi)~ Surprise birthday party organized by Linali. Yuugi was surprised and incredibly touched by the number of people who showed up to celebrate his and Atem's birthday, particularly after the above 'incident' with the dorm building.
Tennis Lessons~ Yuugi mostly fails at tennis. Big surprise there~
Destroyed Dorms: Take Two (Water Balloon Fight)~ A water balloon fight? It's all in good fun mostly until someone sets off the sprinklers and soaks everybody's stuff. Atem and Yuugi were an 'unstoppable coffee-sloshing twin team of death', though, and it was cute.
Capslock Virus~ Due to the strange effect this virus had on Yuugi's voice, he did a lot of unintentional whining every time he opened his mouth. His 'capslocked' voice had nothing on Atem's, however, and Yuugi ended up needing a few of the painkillers that Hakkai had given Atem for his birthday after all the yelling.
Kaa-summoning/Cave adventures~ In hopes of 'forcing himself' to summon his kaa by being in a dangerous situation, Yuugi stubbornly insisted on being allowed into the (horrible) cave system on the island, which resulted in caving adventures which resulted in Atem breaking his leg and Linali nearly being crushed to death and/or drowning. Afterwards, Yuugi and Atem both felt terrible about the whole thing and after a good deal of guilt and awkwardness, they came to the agreement that they would both try to forgive themselves, or at least not blame themselves entirely. Now, if Yuugi could just keep Atem from walking on that leg, things would be great...
Heat Wave Event~ In Yuugi's opinion, the ONLY good thing about every air conditioning unit on campus breaking down at once was that the heat made Atem more comfortable than usual, which made him more likely to sit still and allow his freshly broken leg some time to heal. Other than that, it was just a mess of sticky clothes, dehydration, and droopy hair. Blegh.
Amusement Park~ If it's a date, then an amusement park is a good place, right? Yuugi shipped Linali and Atem off to the amusement park together, then invited Tsuzuki out for an 'all-you-can-eat sweets' buffet to thank him for helping everyone after the caving adventure.
Senseless Virus~ Easily Yuugi's least favorite virus so far. He lost his voice and hated being unable to speak to Atem, who lost his sight. Yuugi was hardly present on the journals during this time; he was way more focused on taking care of his other self and making sure Atem didn't get himself into any trouble. Which... didn't work, of course.
Tanabata Festival~ Yuugi attended and hung out with Atem and Linali a bit before heading off on his own and eventually approaching Yuuko to ask her about a price for a wish, specifically, a wish for the Sennen Puzzle. She told him that the price would be the Dragon Cards from his world, and shortly afterward, he learned that the prize for getting a perfect score on one of the monthly quizzes was a day-long visit home. Since then, he's been studying fiercely in hopes of being able to complete the transaction for his wish.
Handcuff Event~ Lucky lucky Yuugi got cuffed to Frau, and predictably, had a VERY DIFFICULT WEEK. For the first three days, Frau refused to let them leave the Mechanical building, with Yuugi having a fever and being too sick to summon his kaa and get a hold of Atem. When they were reunited, Atem and Frau had a fight that escalated VERY QUICKLY from a verbal argument to attempted murder on Frau's part, though Atem managed to dodge the swing from Frau's scythe, much to Yuugi's relief. Frau apologized to Yuugi and eventually told him more about the scythe, and more about his world. Yuugi told Frau about Anzu, something that he immediately began to regret.
Charades Party~ Yuugi invited a large group of people over to play games. It was during this party that he met Teito face-to-face for the first time, which pleased him immensely. He also met Hakuren, Rolo, and a few others.
Halloween Event~ For the craziness that was Halloween, Yuugi costume was, lamely, 'a person standing in the rain'. Except for the part that his costume was something else entirely.
Physicals~ Yuugi wasn't exactly excited about going and hearing the same things he's no doubt heard for every physical he's taken part in, but he was pleasantly surprised--AKA, totally stoked--to learn that since arriving at Moksa, he's grown an entire three and a half centimeters taller. He also learned that he has to get reading glasses, which should help him when it comes to studying.
-Classes-
Yuugi had a very hard time picking out which classes to attend, but eventually settled on the following five:
Magic Theory
Home Economics
World Religions
Anatomy
Chemistry
He hopes Magic Theory will be useful in his and Atem's search for a way to let Atem cheat death again, and it's the one class that he's really excited about for the subject material, though he's curious about World Religions as well. He's taking Home Economics because Linali and Tsuzuki are taking it, while he's mostly taking Anatomy because it's a class taught by a fellow student (The Undertaker) rather than by a licensed teacher who is a complete stranger to him. He added Chemistry when Atem added Chemistry, because, wow, he does not trust his other self in that class by himself.
